16/08/2010 - Russia, Moscow

I got up early to get a lift back into town with James and his driver. The traffic is amazing. There are 8 lane each way highways, but yet the traffic jams were massive. That's one commute that I would totally hate. Being my last day, I wandered around a bit, went to GUM which is the old communist shopping centre where people had to line up for bread and yet now can buy Versace, Gucci et al. A striking change. Had another look around Red Square and then went to Arbat to see the tourist tat. But for most of the day I sat around reading.

The photos are of the Moskva by night, the red square by night and inside the GUM.
