A day at the football. We hadn't planned on going to the football in Brazil, but when I asked Natalia from the hostel if the TV would show the Carling Cup final in the UK, she got a little confused and tried to organise tickets to the Copa Taca Guanabara between Flamengo and Boavisrta, an opportunity we couldn't pass up. There were 5 of us tourists on the trip to the match and 12 or so locals. It was great, beers on the way to the match, sitting with the local fans and a fairly decent match. The only and winning goal was a Ronaldinho special which will sit in the memory banks for a long time. The crowd went mental. We finished the day at an impromptu street party in Barrio Flamengo to celebrate the win. A top day out.

ReplyDeleteThis was a pre-season cup and the atmosphere was amazing. If only the people at K-Park could show this much enthusiasm.
