13/05/2011 - Columbia, Medellin

Country number 50 for me and it was a great day out.  Liz and I only really chose to go to Medellin because of the tv show Entourage, but it turned out to be an inspired choice.  The city is quite large and modernish so it felt normal.  The transport is fantastic and the people friendly (even if some do stare at the white people).  So the day, we took the MetroCable cable car up to the top of Medellin and had a walk around the local forest.  We came back before a thunderstorm came in, had lunch at a local cafe and then visited the magnificent Botero exhibition (i've added a separate page for the photos) which says a lot considered I don't like galleries or museums.  We rounded it out with a trip on the other cable car and then a nice dinner with a Kiwi couple from the hostel.  If everything didn't work in Ecuador, everything work today in Medellin.  Loved it.

The photos are of Medellin from the cable car.
