23/06/2011 - Nicaragua, Isla de Ometepe

We had planned on taken the chicken bus around the island to do some sightseeing, however, there are only five a day so those plans were scrapped quickly.  Instead, we hired some mopeds and cruised around the island.  Liz's bike broke down so there was some issues sorting that out, but in the end, one of the guys from the hire company rode around as our guide for the day which was a good result.  We went to Ojo de Agua (a freshwater spring), Playa Santa Domenico, saw both volcanoes, walked through Chaco Verde and saw the island from a spit.  A very good day.

The photos are of two congo monkeys (that's what the guide called them, but they looked and sounded like howlers to me), chaco verde and baby land iguana (again the guide said that, looks like a green lizard to me).
