07/05/2011 - Ecuador, Isabela Island (Galapagos)

Another day on Isabela.  In the morning it a boat ride to try an see some elusive sharks, which again was a negative followed by a nature walk on the now dry lava flows.  The afternoon was spent snorkelling (Liz and I had our first experience with a sea turtle which was absolutely amazing), which was followed by a boat ride to see sea turtles, we we saw many of in close proximity, along with spotted eagle rays and a galapagos hawk.  A very good day.

The photos are of a blue footed booby,  a blue footed booby, a sea lion, a lava flow complete with cactus, a where's wally lava lizard, a heron, a galapagos hawk, a blue footed booby and a penguin with some flightless cormorants.
